910115 Lite Multiuse Marker™ (LMM™)
The Lite Multiuse Marker™ (LMM™) provides Near-Infrared (NIR), visible white and blue, Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR), Long-Wave Infrared (LWIR), and passive visual signaling in a single compact, lightweight package.
The LMM utilizes the combat-proven Neptune™ Multipurpose Beacon. Powered by a CR123 battery, the Neptune™ offers adjustable brightness in constant-on NIR, visible white, and blue modes, as well as flashing NIR, visible white, and blue signaling.
MWIR and LWIR signaling are achieved through a specially formulated reflective marker. Powered by ambient solar radiation, the flat brown surface of the LMM produces a cold black signature detectable by MWIR and LWIR sensors. This material requires no batteries or external illumination; naturally occurring solar radiation present day or night provides the energy needed for operation. Combat proven from Arctic to desert environments, the reflective surface is bonded to a 1000-denier, high-visibility orange backing that also supports passive visual signaling.
The LMM features a pointed design for directional designation in MWIR, LWIR, and visual signaling applications. Integrated 550-cord attachment points allow for ground staking and flexible deployment.
Four LMM’s can be deployed in a box configuration to establish a landing zone visible in NIR, visible white, or blue under limited visibility conditions. Alternatively, the MWIR/LWIR reflective side can be used to create a landing zone detectable only by thermal sensors. The LMM is the only thermal drop zone solution on the market suitable for rotary-wing or drone applications.
Waterproof to depths exceeding 150 feet and weighing less than five ounces including the battery, the LMM’s compact size allows it to fit easily into soldier or aircrew equipment.
